Behaviorism and the Role it Plays in Animal Cognition
This paper was a paper written for my Cognitive Science Seminar course at the University of Minnesota – Duluth. The prompt for this paper was: Explain the methodology of behaviorism. Then use this methodology to explain a specific example of some animal’s behavior. (In doing so, do NOT use any of the examples that we’ve already talked about. I want a NEW example!) Then identify at least one objection to this methodology and take a stand on whether you think the objection is compelling or whether it can be dismissed.
Chronic Illness and Mental Health: A Critical Literature Review
Excerpt: “Overall, there is support that backs the idea that there is a correlation between chronic illness and mental health conditions. The literature supports the concept that chronic illness is directly associated with some form of psychological distress. However, the literature lacks a comprehensive ideology of whether or not chronic illness directly causes clinically diagnosable depression, anxiety, and PTSD or if the associated psychological distress is merely a distress of the illness that is a mixture of the symptoms of those mental disorders.”
